Jacob Sweetapple

Jacob Sweetapple has been working in hospitality for over 16 years. Hailing from Australia, Sweetapple is an internationally award-winning bartender competing at the international level six times and in 2011 he won the Global Beefeater 24 Gin Cocktail Masters in London.

He studied at the accredited cocktail school Alex Beaumont in Sydney while working in some of the city’s most progressive cocktail bars. He then directed his efforts toward consultancy projects, restaurant and bar openings and found himself managing the renowned SPYBAR in Auckland, NZ

Sweetapple returned to Australia to continue his career consulting and opening different venues and eventually relocated to Vancouver in 2008. He is instrumental in helping to establish Canada on the international cocktail circuit and sits as a judge for the Worlds 50 Best Bars.

In 2010 Sweetapple opened the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel and developed its cocktail program, following that he was the Bar Manager at Chambar Restaurant and now is heavily involved with spirit education in Canada as the ABSOLUT Brand Ambassador and also teaches the internationally accredited spirit education course, Maison by Pernod-Ricard.
