Join Chef Alana Maas (Peckham) in a 5 course meal that explores salty, sour, spicy, umami and sweet flavours. Taste your way through her dishes as she explains the formula of balance and how the use of these flavours can elevate and enhance your cooking.
Chef Bio: Chef Alana Maas (Peckham) is a local chef who's career started in some of Vancouver's premier restaurants. Her journey and experience from cook to executive chef to corporate chef to becoming a Food Network Canada's Chopped Canada Champion, have all lead her to becoming a Chef Instructor and Co-Owner of Northwest Culinary Academy of Vancouver on Main Street. She takes all of her kitchen and media experience to the classroom where she enjoys teaching students who are either on their journey to becoming a professional in the culinary industry or who are culinary enthusiasts looking to sharpen their skills in the home kitchen. Her love of food started at a young age following and learning from her mother. A mother herself now, she loves cooking at a professional level for work while being able to care for her family through food at home.
