Drink Seminar: Diverse Reds from the Okanagan Falls/Skaha Lake Winery Association
Presenter: Kurtis Kolt
The rich landscape of the Okanagan Falls/Skaha Lake region is the ideal territory to grow a variety of red grapes, including some unusual varietals such as Tempranillo. The 15 members of the area’s Winery Association produce elegant, complex Pinot Noirs; big, bold reds; and more. Wine consultant Kurtis Kolt hosts this guided tasting that introduces the Association members – which range from small, family-owned organizations to corporate wineries, with everything in between – and explores the diverse (and spectacular!) terroir of the destination known as the Heart of Wine Country™. All the wines are estate-grown, with the exception of that from Bonamici Cellars, which is having its first harvest this year.
