Nourish: The Nomad Cook presents - Introduction to Terpene Brunch
Chef Travis Petersen ( The Nomad Cook ) will be preparing a 3 course brunch infused with Botanical Terpenes. The new frontier in the culinary world, terpenes carry therapeutic effects that not only provide beautiful aromas and new taste for the palette, but bring a whole new dining experience to the dinner table.
Born and Raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Travis Petersen is a West Coast native who has spent years travelling abroad, discovering his passion for food. After relocating to Edmonton in his mid twenties to pursue a career in Oil and Gas and working for The Score Group (the world’s largest valve servicing company) Travis apprehensively applied for Masterchef Canada. Though cooking had always been a passion of his, it was never thought to grow past that, however, once selected as one of the Top 40 in Canada to compete on one of CTV’s most viewed television shows- things started to evolve.
In January of 2016, The Nomad Cook was born - Over the next 3 years the company would mature, travelling coast to coast, building the NOMAD Brand, which offered a new approach for the artist behind the plate, a platform for chefs to cultivate new opportunities outside the traditional restaurant circuit. To date, Chef Travis has a colourful portfolio featuring Celebrities, Professional Athletes, Dinner in The Sky Vancouver, and countless families coast to coast! Chef Travis is a regular guest of the Weekend Morning News on Global Edmonton and has hosted & promoted over 4 dozen pop up dinners in the last 2 1/2 years all over British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario.
2018 saw the launch of The Infused Dining Series, a 5 course travelling pop up restaurant. Over a 17 month period Chef Travis served over 2300 people their first terpene infused dining experience and has lead the way for new movement in Canada.
