Eric has dedicated his professional life to wine and the pleasures that surround it. For the last 20 years – 18 of them based in Whistler – he has been involved with many aspects of the hospitality and wine industry. Formerly Sommelier and Wine Director at Whistler’s award-winning Bearfoot Bistro, Eric’s reputation for leading engaging and entertaining tastings and seminars, has been built from his no nonsense approach to wine education. His goal is to make wine more approachable and less intimidating. He encourages people to try different wine styles and grape varieties, to ask questions and, most importantly, to keep an open mind. He now splits his time between Whistler and Québec, where him and wife farm their 5 hectare vineyard organically and sustainably, and showcase La Belle Province’s terroir through small production, handcrafted, site-driven wines.
