Jason Yamasaki is the Group Sommelier for the dynamic & ambitious Joey Restaurant Group. In this role, he founds the wine list for restaurants across Canada and the westcoast of the United States. As a lifelong hospitality professional from Vancouver, Jason earned the title of British Columbia’s Best Sommelier in 2015 and competed in Canada’s Best Sommelier 2015. Hospitality, food, and wine has been his focus his entire career. Jason has a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, a vintage under his belt in Austria, and a background in fine dining. He is most energized when communicating about wine. The enthusiasm and thoughtfulness that he brings to his interactions have allowed him to be a recognized as a top tastemaker.
