In addition to holding the WSET Diploma and the Certified Specialist of Wine designation from the Society of Wine Educators, Lara is also a WSET Certified Educator. She teaches all levels of WSET certification in wines, spirits and sake in Vancouver with Cru Classe Hospitality Corp.
Lara studied sake in Japan through a program sponsored by WSET, the Govt. of Japan and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF), Japan. Since then she has taught many of today’s sake professionals in BC.
Along with her extensive training in beverage alcohol, Lara is also trained as a Pastry Chef. This knowledge of food technology and culinary artistry has balanced and enhanced her expertise in food and wine/spirits/sake pairing.
Lara is a writer on these topics in BC, as well as internationally. She is a Food Stylist, Recipe Developer and Judge for the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC).
