Argentina’s winemaking history dates back to the 1500s, when Spanish explorers brought the first vine cuttings.  With its high-altitude regions and low humidity, the country is an ideal place to grow a wide range of varietals, including Malbec, Bonarda, and Torrontes.  Seminar host Daenna Van Mulligen (AKA WineDiva) will introduce guests to Argentina’s most important winemaking regions and some of its lesser-known varietals, discussing how modern Argentinean wineries have embraced technological innovation and environmental sustainability while retaining some of their formative Old World influences.
