Lisa Cook

Lisa Cook is the co-creator of Sunday School – a monthly series of popular and irreverent wine seminars hosted by the Vancouver Urban Winery. Her love affair with food and wine became official in 2000 after graduating from the Culinary Arts program at VCC on full scholarship. In 14 years of restaurant industry experience since then, this girl’s been busy. 

She helped craft the menu at the Opus Hotel before moving on to become the Cellar Manager for the Wineroom at Joey Bentall One. In her five years at Joey’s, Lisa won numerous awards and accolades. She was voted one of the Top Four Sommeliers to watch in Vancouver in 2012 then delivered on that promise with a Platinum award in 2013 from the Vancouver International Wine Festival.

These days Lisa is never far from a glass of wine. After manning the floor of several top restaurants in Vancouver, she is settling into a new project.  You will soon find her at the highly anticipated new restaurant ‘Savio Volpe’ due to open this September in the Fraserhood.
